Shine From the Inside

This is a beauty and skin care blog and we tend to focus all of our efforts on what’s on the outside. Not a bad thing in itself, but true beauty, and I know how much of a cliche this is, radiates from within us. A cliche for sure, but no less true. The sparkle in our eyes when we do a good deed or help another in need makes the brightest MAC eyeshadow dull in comparison. The smile that beams when our heart is filled with compassion and love leaves even the most beautiful Chanel lipstick far behind. There is no substitute for the beauty created from a heart and soul that has touched the life of another in a positive manner.

Today, you can make your inner beauty glow bright by helping a little girl, Meadow Quinn. Shannon, at “A Girl’s Gotta Spa” is holding a fund raiser for seven year old Meadow. Here’s Meadow’s story and the reason she desperately needs all of us to help her:

Meadow Quinn has a disease called Neurofibromatosis. She has several inoperable tumors and has been fed through a feeding tube since she was 18 months old. A feeding clinic that will require a 4 week stay will help her to learn to eat like any other 7 year old. [distressedDERMA.com Editor’s note: Meadow’s insurance company refuses to pay for this treatment]. Can you imagine knowing that there is something out there that will help your child–it is within reach–yet you don’t have the money to pay for it?

So far $42,000 [distressedDERMA.com Editor’s note: of the $70,000 needed] has been raised, but I would love to bring that amount even closer to her goal. Would you like to help? Then please take a look at the ebay auctions I have set up to raise the funds. Once each auction is live, they will be linked directly to the auction page. [source A Girls Gotta Spa]
