$23.99 for a 1.2 fl. oz. seems pricey but it works as well as the $65 pumpkin peel facials I used to get at my local cosmetic surgeon’s aesthetic clinic – and lasts on average for five to six treatments. That’s $65 PER facial every eight weeks – multiply that by six and it quickly adds up to a whopping $390 and that’s not even including all the after-care treatments they persuaded me to purchase on the way out. Not that it takes a lot to persuade me to buy anything related to skincare or cosmetics
What I really like about the Zia Pumpkin Exfoliating Mask is the all-natural ingrediants that actually deliver results without irritating my hyper-sensitive skin. According to the Zia product guide the Pumpkin Exfoliating mask is recommended for normal, oily or sun-damaged skin. The pumpkin mask is created by:
blending nourishing pumpkin puree with pineapple juice to clear away old cells and pore congestion. With over 100 nutrients including vitamins C, D & E, amino acids and beta carotene, Pumpkin Exfoliating Mask helps correct cell damage and dark patches as it smoothes skin’s surface. White willow bark is added to fight blemishes and eliminate oil blockage.
I first cleaned my face with a non-foaming cleanser, rinsed well, gently patted dry and then using a fan shaped mask application brush ( you can’t take the spa experience out of this gal
) I applied it over my forehead, temples, nose (using great care to avoid the delicate eye area) across my cheeks, down to my jawline and onto my neck – don’t forget the neck that will give your age away FAST. After 10 minutes I rinsed the pumpkin masque off, gently patted my skin dry and was quite happy with the immediate results. The old dead rough textured skin had been dissolved, my skin looked plumper and had a rosy glow.
After continued use my skin was soft, the acne breakouts were lessened quite a bit and my overall complexion was more radiant as my skin tone was evened out and the pores I swear look really small. The product’s only downside is that it has a bitter fragrance that in no way resembles pumpkin at all – other than that I love this product.

Hi john,
Thank you for your comment.
Zia masks can be used by men and women. If you buy any of the zia skincare treatments please do not apply them on freshly shaved facial skin as it will sting.

i have to say that i bought this stuff and ended up throwing it away because it irritated my skin so much. i would recommend purchasing one of their mini ones first, or asking for a sample to take home.

Hi elyse,
Buying minis and samples is a great idea.
I was able to use the pumpkin mask without irritation on my sensitive skin but everyone has different levels of tolerance which brings me to another point: if a product doesn’t work or causes irritation it should be returned to the point of purchase for a full refund – as you shouldn’t have to pay for a product that has cause irritation or doesn’t work. If purchased online you can have the purchase price and shipping fees refunded if you let customer service know that you had a reaction.

Hi distressedDerma,
Do you alternate between using this pumpkin mask and your MD Formulations peel?

Hi Jen,
Thank you for your comment.
MD Formulations Personal Peel is a staple in my skin care regimen – I swear by how effective it has been for me, I just love it. I do however alternate other peels and mask such as the Zia Pumpkin mask, DERMAdoctor PhysicalChemistry, Dr. Wexler Peel and others because I find that my skin gets accustomed to whatever product I am using and then does not seem to be as effective. I get around that by alternating product usage. This also helps me evaluate other products. If you’d like to know my opinion on the Wexler Peel and DERMAdoctor let me know. I do plan on reviewing them as my work schedule permits.
