Zia Natural Skincare Fresh Papaya Enzyme Mask

Zia Papaya Mask ReviewZia Natural Skincare has a line of eco-savvy organic beauty products that are quite effective. The reason I stress that they are effective is that over the last five years or so many organic beauty products have been produced which leave much to be desired, causing many to write off organics as just not powerful enough to fix aging or blemished skin.

Zia is one of a few companies that has been producing exceptional organic skin care products for years. Prior to the current trend by many large companies to embrace organics because it’s the “cool” thing to do, Zia was creating products that are good for you and good for the environment.

Regular readers will remember that I have written about Zia’s Pumpkin mask – which I loved. Recently, I had the opportunity to use Zia’s Papaya mask and can happily report that it’s wonderful at: uncovering new skin, removing those icky dry flakes-that, yes, even us oily blemish prone gals get, brightening the complexion and keeping the skin hydrated.

After using the mask – which I did twice a week for three weeks, my skin felt softer afterwards. Never did it feel taut or stretched. The Fresh Papaya Enzyme mask didn’t lead to any breakouts – which is always a concern for me when testing new products. My skin is very temperamental and my biggest fear is the return of blemishes or breakouts. Thankfully, the papaya mask only gave me better skin.

One quick note, I have sensitive skin and did experience a bit of tingling when I applied the mask, but it was tolerable. After using the mask a couple of times I no longer experienced the tingling – which I am sure is related to the natural Alpha Hydroxy Acid in the papaya mask. However, I must caution those with really sensitive skin – this product is a powerful exfoliating agent. So if you’re interested in trying it out, start off with the $5 trial and go from there.

As with the Zia pumpkin mask, I found that it was comparable to my experience with a professional AHA/glycolic pumpkin peel done in my doctor’s office. A jar of the papaya mask with several weeks of use is only $25 compared to a one-time facial cost of $60+.

For those of you interested in the Fresh Papaya Enzyme Mask ingredients:

  • Organic Papaya gently dissolves dead surface skin
  • Vitamin C & E aid skin repair and minimize skin sun damage
  • Honey soothes and hydrates to soften skin
  • Improves skin texture and tautness
  • Paraben free

I am curious to know whether or not the mask would irritate easily reddened skin. Has anyone with easily irritated skin had expirience with the papaya mask?
