The upside to business travel is staying at really nice hotels – which in my book translates to hotels with lots and lots of travel size skin, body and hair products.
This week my travels took me to a Hyatt and as I do each and every time I enter a hotel room – I kick off my heels and make a mad dash for the bathroom. I scoop up the adorable petite beauty products and squeal with the delight of a young child getting their first peek of a gift (one they really, really wanted) partially hidden under the paper wrapping and decorative ribbons.
Yes, I am a total sucker for hotel toiletries. What can I say? Some people get excited about a new car or this season’s Prada bags – not me. I love the fragrant and luxurious products that await me in each hotel I make home when I’m away from home.
On this trip I discovered four great products from Portico Spa by Hyatt at Home. First, I must tell you about the heavenly fragrance. The shampoo, conditioner, body shower gel and body butter from the Lavender and Citrus Collection are imbued with a crisp, fresh, up-lifting scent that is also soothing and calming(must be the lavender). The fragrance is quite distinctive and lingers softly – as a gentle reminder to stay calm and cool despite the craziness that awaits us in the rushed, hectic and often stressful world that lies outside our homes (and in some cases outside the bathroom at home).
The Portico Spa shampoo lathers well and leaves a nice healthy clean feel. I didn’t feel that my hair was stripped of it’s natural oils – which can happen with some harsh shampoos that are more fragrance than hair product. My favorite was the conditioner – the lavender and citrus fragrance infused my hair and senses for the 30-secs I left the hair conditioner on.
The body shower gel was nice and silky, lathered well and , again, just as the shampoo, very gentle and left my skin feeling soft and supple. The body butter was simply amazing and I know I’m starting to sound like a very badly scratched record but – the fragrance, that combination of lavender and citrus had me at the first flip of the shampoo lid.
Today, I learned that the Portico Spa Collection by Hyatt can be purchased at: Hyatt at Home – Portico.
