Sephora No!No! Review

Nov 12 2007 no!no! update:

I’ve been using the no!no! for over eight weeks and I can happily report that there has been a much higher reduction in hair density than what I had expected.

For me the no!no! is a perfect alternative to shaving or waxing. I plan to continue to use the no!no! in place of waxing for the following reasons:

• It doesn’t hurt.
• Hair is removed and 40% to 50% doesn’t grow back.
• Long-term it costs less. Now I can also do my arms which I couldn’t do before because of costs – $60 for legs and another $45 for arms – that was just too pricey.
• Easy to use and I can do it in the privacy of my home.
• Don’t have to wait until hair regrowth is long enough to wax.

There are a few things I didn’t like:

• Odor of burning hair – made bearable by no!no!-ing stubble.
• Slower to use than shaving but no more time than waxing at the Salon.
• There are no indicators on the hot blades or no!no! device to tell you when the hot blades need to be replaced (hint, hint no!no! product development team…). You are “notified” the blade is dead because the hair/stubble isn’t coming off – not the best notification method

All in all, I like the no!no! and it has been effective for me so I can live with the smell of burning hair, the time it takes to do and hopefully, if the no!no! developers are reading this, product development for the hot blades will be implemented so I don’t have to guess when I need to buy replacements.

No!No! Experiment Part II
Earlier I had agreed to another no!no! experiment in which I would cease no!no!-ing to determine if the hair reduction is indeed long-term. Last week I started to let the hair grow back and have ceased the use of no!no! – so we’ll see in a week or so.

Dec 10th 2007: Left arm after about eight weeks of treatment with the no!no! hair removal device AND then not using the no!no! for six weeks. I was going to start up the no!no! after the Nov 23rd update but I got the flu (next year I’m definitely getting the flu shot ), had to catch up at work and then I had to hit the road again for business, so I didn’t have the time to no!no! again. The upside of that is that I now have six weeks of regrowth on my arms and I’m feeling much more confident about the permanent reduction in hair density. I’m pleasantly surprised with how effective the no!no! has been. The hair on my legs and bikini line are showing good results also – marked reduction in hair growth. I will be restarting my no!no! treatments again tomorrow and look forward to continued improvement in hair density reduction. I know this isn’t a cure or a 100% permanent hair removal product but this gal’s extraordinarily happy that her arms no longer look like they belong on the body of a hairy guy And I’m even happier now that I received an email from the no!no! product team and was informed that they have read this review and are taking my product design and development concerns into consideration. Fixing those two design issues with the hot blades (labeling which is for long vs stubble and providing a blinky light or something to let us know that the blade needs to be replaced ) will make this product even better than it is now.

One quick note before I wrap up this review. A reader asked me about testing the no!no! under the arms. I tried one quick little pass and couldn’t tolerate the sensation. I am really ticklish under my arms and the no!no! sent me into a fit of giggling. So as far as my under arms are concerned it’s shaving only.
