Beautiful Renee Zellweger lit up the red carpet at the recent movie premier for Leatherheads, in which she co-stars with George Clooney. Unfortunately for Renee the gossip rags and celebrity magazines pointed to the fact that it was her oily, shiny face that lit up the paparazzi lined red carpet.
The 38 year old Renee is known for taking excellent care of her skin, it has been rumored that she undergoes a three-hour anti-aging skincare procedure to keep her skin glowing with a youthful radiance and looking perfectly blemish free.
Perhaps she over-moisturized her skin prior to the premier which could have given her facial skin that less than matte appearance. Or she could just have oily and aging skin like millions of other woman. However, poor Renee had to be humiliated on the covers and front pages of celebrity gossip rags for committing the sin of walking outdoors while shiny faced. Really how dreadful is that?
It’s no wonder we women obsess with our looks and spend countless hours and thousands of dollars searching for the Holy Grail of Perfect Skin; we have the popular media telling us that we’re ugly because our skin is shiny, blemished, wrinkled or otherwise compromised.
I wish I had the courage to walk outdoors while shiny faced or even slightly blemished but I don’t. So I thank God for products like Mary Kay Oil Blotting Tissues, DERMAdoctor TeaseZone Oil Control Lotion and an amazing 16-hour non-smudging, transfer resistant, oil-free foundation I recently happened across from Rimmel.

Yikes. I hadn’t seen this picture of Renee, but the flash of a camera can be brutal if there’s oil on your skin. Thanks for the tip on the blotting tissues. I may give em a try.

Hi SCV Mom,
I always keep a pack of Mary Kay Oil Blotting tissues in my purse. They’re inexpensive and effective at soaking up oil. I rather use the oil blotting tissues instead of loading up on powder. Using powder to absorb oil-breakthrough eventually leads to that unattractive caked on, dried out skin look that serves as a magnifying glass to accentuate wrinkles, pimples and scars. The Mary Kay oil blotting tissues just leave clean looking, matte skin.
