MD Formulations My Personal Peel

I am a devoted fan of Derma Doctor founder, Dr. Audrey Kunin, and I read her skin care newsletters religiously. One particular article in a recent newsletter caught my attention. This article discussed her personal use of the MD Formulations My Personal Peel system and she was extremely happy with it’s performance. That was enough to get me online and ordering within minutes.

I’ve been suffering with adult acne, courtesy of my completely out of whack hormones, for years. Way too many years. Whenever I am aware of a product that has the potential for keeping the ugly little pimples, blackheads and cysts at bay – I try it.

Ten minutes later and $80 poorer I received an email notification that the MD Formulations My Personal Peel would be arriving at my door in two business days.

When the product arrived I enthusiastically ripped open the box to get at the potential beautiful skin maker. Normally, I skip instructions – bad I know – but this time I stopped in my tracks. The instructions were beautifully printed in the inside of the box. As it turned out, reading the instructions was quite important as this glycolic peel system is different than other glycolic peels that I’ve purchased in the past.

The MD Formulations My Personal Peel came with the glycolic compound (the Power Peel pads) , Post-Peel Restorer and three powerful skin treatment boosters. Each of the treatment serums address specific skin concerns. The Firming Anti-Wrinkle Booster targets the factors that cause aging skin by boosting elasticity and replenishing much need skin hydration. The Extra Clear Booster’s ingredients Vitamin A, Salicylic Acid, Farnesol and Witch Hazel targets enlarged pores, oil and blemishes. The Brightening Booster contains a super anti-oxidant cocktail replete with stabilized Vitamin C, Mulberry, Licorice in conjunction with the powerful skin regenerator and collagen builder, pure retinol vitamin A. Lastly, the Post-Peel Restorer contains a bevy of moisturizing agents including hyaluronic acid, olive-derived squalane and Ceramides all working together to create an ultra-light hydrated barrier to protect your skin from free radicals (that word sounds so scary!) and inflammation caused by those scary free radicals.

The entire system felt as if it was developed just for me. I have hyper-pigmentation from old acne, melasma on my cheeks, my skin is losing it’s elasticity and fine wrinkles are taking root and of course I have the stubborn blackheads, blemishes and once a month cystic acne terrors. So this product was definitely designed with women like me in mind.

The first day I used the MD Formulations My Personal Peel I started by cleansing my facial skin with a gentle glycolic based cleanser, rinsing well and then patting the skin dry. Following the detailed peel instructions I took one of the Power Peel Pads and swept it across my forehead, nose, down my cheeks, around my chin and along my jaw line. There was a noticeable tingling sensation but it wasn’t painful and it only lasted a few seconds. While the Power Peel solution was on my skin and wet, I proceeded to the second step in the personal peel process. I blended in a dime size amount of the Extra Clear Booster to the areas plagued by enlarged skin pores and blemishes. The Firming Anti-Wrinkle Booster was applied to my forehead wrinkle area and those pesky parenthesis lines from my nose to mouth. I used the Brightening Booster on the dark spots over my cheeks first and let it work for a half a minute. I then spread the rest of the brightening booster all over my face. After the peel treatment had been absorbed by skin I used the Post-Peel Restorer which felt a bit oily but surprised me by being quickly absorbed and left absolutely no greasy residue.

The immediate results of the MD Formulations My Personal Peel were softer, glowing skin that was a bit pinkish in color. I continued using this glycolic peel system three times a week over a period of six weeks and the results were fabulous. My blemished dry, flaky skin was now softer, brighter, with smaller pores (visibly at least) and there was a marked reduction in blackheads. My skin looked and felt healthier. I think the constant exfoliation and booster treatments have benefited my skin.

Ms. Distressed Derma rates this product: :) A little pricey but it lasts a long time and in the long run it’s less expensive than a spa treatment and in my opinion just as effective.
