Intelligent Aesthetics Clear – Personalized Skincare

Intelligent AestheticsWhen I was sent the Intelligent Aesthetics’ Clear Skincare kit I noticed that the cleanser had Benzoyl Peroxide. Typically, a product that makes me recoil with fear since my skin reacts quite badly to Benzoyl Peroxide. I had read quite a few good reviews about Intelligent Aesthetics and really wanted to give the line a try, so I set aside my fear and just got started.

I braced myself for the reaction that I had come to expect each time that I had applied any product with BP in the past, and…nothing. No burning, no stinging and no flaming red skin. I had to read the ingredients list one more time to confirm to myself that there indeed was BP in the cleanser. Yep, there it was clear as day.

The cleanser is one of the very best cleansers myself and the two other testers had used, to date, and I was extremely happy that I didn’t just say no way when I read the ingredients label. As a matter of fact, all of the ingredients in the the Intelligent Aesthetics’ Clear line: Deep Pore Cleansing Gel, Intensive Clarifying Treatment (mask), Blemish Control Skin Primer (toner) and AM/PM Healing Complex (healing moisturizer) are very gentle and effective.

After using the cleanser we all noted that where there were clogged, dirty pores now there were just clean pores peering back. That in itself is quite extraordinary since none of us had experienced a cleanser that truly deep cleaned – and did so without stripping the natural oils from our skin.

The clay mask was also like no other clay mask we had tried. It was creamy and dried slowly so we didn’t have to race to get the mask on as was the case with another brand of clay mask. The mask dried to a nice white finish and dissolved away when wiped with a warm cloth, leaving behind soft, deeply cleansed skin. One of our testers with young skin (she’s in her twenties) swore that the mask helped unplug a group of nasty blackheads she had on the folds of her nose. As for me, I do have aging blemished skin and my biggest fear was that the mask was going to really dry my skin out and accentuate the fine lines – thankfully it didn’t.

The toner contains salicylic acid which helps keep skin exfoliated which is critical for keeping acne and blemishes under control. The moisturizer contains elements that help hydrate the skin while also absorbing excess oils – another critical element in the war on pimples.

From start to finish the Intelligent Aesthetics skincare Clear collection was created to effectively fight pimples and oily skin. The cleanser kills the bacteria that devours oil inside the pore; the mask deep cleans and purifies the pore which also helps reduce oiliness as well as puts the squeeze on yucky black heads; the toner keeps skin cells turning over so that they don’t have a chance of clogging pores – which is what leads to pimples; and the intelligent moisturizer keeps the skin well hydrated while controlling oil over-production.

Our younger tester loved using the products twice a day and the mask twice a week. The Blemish Control Skin Primer (toner) she only uses once a day as she seemed to notice her skin getting just a little red. When she cut back to once a day usage there was no redness.

For those with more mature skin and blemishes- this is what I’ve found works for me: Once a week I give myself a detoxifying facial using Intelligent Aesthetics Clear. First I remove all makeup – then I start off with a two minute cleansing massage with the cleanser on wet skin, follow with 10 minutes of the mask, remove the mask and let my skin dry for about 15 to 20 minutes and then sweep the toner across my face.

Using this weekly detox system, I’ve noticed an improvement in the texture of areas that tend to get congested. Those of us fighting blemishes know that it’s an on-going battle and one must keep vigilant before that black head or clogged pore erupts into a heinous pimple. Intelligent Aesthetics Clear makes it easier to do so.

Oh, and one more thing – this product line battles pimples but it does so with a clean, fresh and engaging spa-like scent. The mask contains sulfur, and sulfur to put it kindly stinks (See my review of MD Forte) – I, of the super sensitive olfactory senses, couldn’t even pick up the faintest whiff of sulfur in the mask – that’s just remarkable.

Intelligent Aesthetics personalized skincare is available at intelligentaesthetics.com. The Clear skincare kit sales for $105.30.

I’ve used the Biore pore strips before to pull blackheads out. It worked well and it was cool to see the point blackheads stuck on the strip but it really messed up my skin. I want to try that cleanser and the mask that cleans out the pores. Do you have to buy the kit? Kind of expensive to buy it all. Wish I could afford it all but I’ll have to buy piece by piece.
