DERMAdoctor Body Guard Exquisitely Light SPF 30

I have oily, acne-prone skin and it’s sensitive to boot so finding a sunscreen that didn’t irritate my skin, clog my pores and leave me with an oil sheen visible for miles was a daunting task.

I’ve used expensive sunscreens from Dermalogica (sold via aesthetician at cosmetic surgeon’s clinic) as well as department store sunscreens like Estee Lauder only to have those products burn, sting and subsequently lead to embarrassing pimples and redness across my face.

A few years ago DERMAdoctor debuted a sunscreen, DERMAdoctor Body Guard Exquisitely Light SPF 30, that promised to be gentle, matte and effective. Already being an absolute devotee of Dr. Kunin’s products I bought it.

Body Guard sunscreen is very light, does not feel heavy or oily. Goes on with a creamy consistency, quickly vanishes into the skin and dries to a matte finish. It doesn’t leave skin feeling dried out despite drying to a matte finish – which is sometimes the case with some products that are labeled as “oil-free” or “dry matte”. Body Guard plays well with foundation and make-up so you don’t have to worry about your make-up running or changing colors half-way through your day.

I’ve been a loyal Body Guard Exquisitely Light SPF 30 user ever since – going on three years. I never leave the house without applying the Body Guard sunscreen to my face, neck and exposed body parts ( with lots of attention paid to back of hands as they are big age give aways). I’m doing everything I can to protect my skin from falling victim to the damaging, aging effects of sun exposure. An essential step toward a youthful complexion is sunscreen protection and now I have one that gives me sun protection and treats my skin well.

The DERMAdoctor Body Guard Exquisitely Light SPF 30 is not cheap at $25 for four ounces; but it delivers shine-free, SPF 30 protection without causing my skin to burst into a field of blemishes which makes it worth every penny, and to blatantly steal a quote from L’Oreal, “I’m Worth It.” :) .
