Clean & Clear Oxygen Fizzing Cleanser

Clean & Clear Oxygen Fizzing cleanser captured my attention at the drug store because it promised to deliver deep cleaning results using an oxygenating action which I assumed would kill the acne causing bacteria and at a price of less than $7.00 I didn’t think twice about purchasing.

TEST NOTE: In order to test its efficacy against my regular glycolic cleanser I only used the Clean & Clear Oxygen Fizzing cleanser on the right side of my face and my regular cleanser on the left side.

Using the product was simple and fast. I poured about a quarter size amount of the product which dispensed as a bluish gel and when applied to my wet skin within seconds started foaming. Within a minute I was sporting a tingling fizzing white foamy mask that had a pleasing scent that reminded me of a fresh breezy day. I took the tingling sensation to mean that the oxygen agents where being driven deep into my congested pores and I had high hopes that the icky stuff residing within my pores was being cleaned out.

Within two minutes the white foamy mask began shrinking away to nothing and that was my cue to begin rinsing my face. After rinsing my face and drying off my skin felt a bit drier than I am used to when using my regular cleanser. Immediately after cleansing I didn’t notice any improvement but as with all products most effects are obtained after using the product for at least four to six weeks. So I used the Clean & Clear Oxygen Fizzing cleanser until I reached the bottom of the bottle – which took about a month of daily use. By week four I noticed that the skin cleansed with the Clean & Clear Oxygen Fizzing cleanser actually seemed to have gotten worse – my pores were more congested and to boot my skin was dried-out and flaky causing little pimples to pop up. I wasn’t at all happy with the results and I wouldn’t recommend it.
